About Alice Hama

Transplant from Tokyo. Love and passion in wine and sake. Alice started her career in banking business, but could not drop her life long dream of working in the gastronomy world. When she completed the program at the acclaimed international wine school Academie du Vin Tokyo, originally headquartered in Paris, then the Wine Education and Management program at UCLA, she came to the conclusion that she would adventure into the world of wine. Alice spent 3 years at Crustacean Beverly Hills, working as the lead Sommelier, overseeing 700 selections and 3000 bottles on stock and overseeing a wine and sake list achieving the Best of Award of Excellence with Wine Spectator. She is currently working as a freelance wine writer and consultant for several media sources, importers, and restaurants. She holds more than 15 wine and food related certifications/titles around the world including Court of Master Sommelier and WSET. In 2016, she registered with a new Program at UCLA Extension as an Instructor. Her ambitious wine journey continues..
